Saturday June 29th proved to be a another wonderfully successful day for the Club at the Youth Clubs All Ireland Finals in Enniscorthy as they pulled off an amazing double in the Mixed Basketball competition and in the process won the Clubs 15th and 16th Basketball All Ireland Titles.
In the U15 Semi Final we faced near neighbours Castleisland in what proved to be the best and closest game of the day. The first quarter was close with John McMahon scoring 4 points to leave Killeentierna leading 6 to 5 , but a great 2nd quarter where Kieran Griffin Scored 4 points and a great Leona McEnery basket saw Killeentierna lead by 7 at half time 12 to 5. Killeentierna put up a great defensive performance in the 3rd quarter keeping Castleisland scoreless and this was the platform for us to run out deserving winners 23 to 11. The Final was a very one sided affair with Killeentierna totally dominant against a gallant Oylegate Team from Wexford. Leading 14 to 0 at half time , Killeentierna went on to keep their opponents scoreless for the whole game and added another 22 points to win 36-0.

In their Semi Final our U18 Team put up a fantastic Performance to beat Castlefin Youth Club 40-4, after leading 20-0 at half time. In the Final they faced Chriost Ri Youth Club from Donegal. Again Killeentierna were fast out of the blocks playing some scintillating basketball to build up a comfortable 22 to 3 lead at half time. Chriost Ri rallied in the 3rd quarter landing 5 great baskets , but Killeentierna took control again in the final Quarter to run out winners 30 to 13.

To round off an outstanding day for the Club our U18 Quiz finished 2nd in the All Ireland Quiz Final , finishing 1 point behind the winners, while our U 15 Quiz were 3rd in their Final.
